Overview
SevenTabs ("SevenTabs", "we", "us") is an accounting and business-management app for retail, trading and service businesses. This page explains what information we collect when you and your team use SevenTabs — on the website, in the browser app, and in the Windows/Android apps — why we collect it, who it's shared with, and what control you have over it.
SevenTabs is built around your business's own records: invoices, customers, inventory, payroll and the like. That data belongs to you. This policy is about how we handle it responsibly while running the service you signed up for.
What we collect
Account & signup information
When you create an account: your business name, your name, email address, phone number, and a password. We never see or store your password in plain text — it's handled by our authentication provider (Supabase Auth) using standard secure hashing.
The business data you enter
Everything you and your team put into SevenTabs to run the business — customers and suppliers, invoices and purchases, inventory and stock movements, payroll and employee records, ledger entries and financial reports, photo attachments (e.g. proof of delivery, expense receipts), and any notes or documents you attach. This is fundamentally your data; we store and process it so the app can function.
Device & sign-in information
To keep your account secure, we use a device-trust model: the first time you sign in on a new device or browser, we send a one-time code (OTP) to confirm it's really you. We keep a record of which devices have completed that check, along with basic session information (sign-in timestamps, general device/browser type), so we don't ask for a code every single time on a device you've already verified.
Payment information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed directly by Tap Payments. We do not receive or store your full card number — Tap handles that and gives us only what's needed to manage your subscription (e.g. plan, status, last four digits of a card for your own reference).
Support & communications
If you contact us — through the in-app/site customer care widget, a support email, or a team-invite response — we keep what you send us so we can reply and so we have a record if the same issue comes up again.
How we use it
- To provide the service itself — storing and syncing your business records across your devices and team members.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure, including the OTP device-trust check described above.
- To send transactional emails you'd expect from using the product: OTP codes, team-invite emails, password resets, and reports you've explicitly scheduled to be emailed to you.
- To respond to support requests and questions sent through the customer care widget or by email.
- To diagnose bugs and improve reliability — for example, understanding why a sync failed for a specific account so we can fix it.
- To enforce our Terms of Service and protect the security and integrity of the service (e.g. detecting abuse).
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your business records (customers, invoices, financials) for advertising or to train unrelated products.
Storage & security
Your business data lives in a dedicated cloud database (Postgres, hosted by Supabase), protected by Row Level Security so only authorized members of your own company can read or write it. All traffic between your device and our servers runs over HTTPS.
SevenTabs is also local-first: each device you sign in on keeps its own local copy of your data, so the app keeps working (read-only) if you lose your internet connection, and syncs back up automatically once you're back online.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security — but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or loss.
Retention
We keep your account and business data for as long as your account is active, so you and your team can keep using the service without interruption. If you close your account, we'll delete your data within a reasonable period afterward, except where we're required to retain certain records for legal, tax, or accounting reasons, or where data has already been anonymized or aggregated.
Your rights & choices
- Export — every list screen (invoices, purchases, customers, inventory, ledger) supports CSV/Excel export, and every document exports as a PDF, at any time from inside the app.
- Correct — you can edit your account details and business records directly in the app.
- Delete — contact us at the address below to request deletion of your account and associated data. If you're a team member rather than the Owner, your Owner can remove your access from Settings → Team.
- Access — you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Children's privacy
SevenTabs is a business tool and isn't directed at, or intended for use by, children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.
International use
SevenTabs is used by businesses in multiple countries, and our infrastructure providers may process and store data in locations other than your own. Wherever your data is processed, we require the same standard of protection described in this policy.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we collect or use your information, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify account Owners directly by email. Continuing to use SevenTabs after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
